Parker Calvert was born and raised in NYC in a family that nurtured his creative spirit. Photography piqued his interest as a child when observing the darkroom sessions of his father and a family friend. It was then that his lifelong exploration of photography, the photographic process, and creative imagery began. During high school and college he continued exploring image making as his interests expanded into film and video production. He graduated The George Washington University in 2008 at age 19 and moved back to NYC to pursue film and photography work. His work has been featured in exhibitions in Miami, Washington DC, East Hampton, NY and Southampton, NY. He has also directed commercials and worked as a fashion and commercial photographer in NYC. His images have been published in Art in America, ArtForum, Architectural Digest, Essence magazine, and his photos were also featured in ads at the Macy’s flagship store (34th Street). He currently resides in NYC and considers it a source of tremendous inspiration. Parker is excited to share that tennis legend Venus Williams recently became one of his collectors during Art Basel Miami 2016.
